Orissa High Court is recruiting new employees for their vacant positions. The notification is out for the post of ASO and stenographer in various positions. 

Orissa High Court released the notification on May 14, 2024, mentioning the date of the application process. The application link opens on May 20, 2024.

Odisha High Court Group B Notification 2024 

The Odisha High Court released the recruitment position under advertisement no 2/2024 and advertisement no 3/2024 for two new positions— Assistant Section Officer (ASO) and Junior Stenographer (JS). The total vacancies for the two positions are 182. 

Out of 182, the ASO position includes 147 vacancies and the Junior Stenographer includes 35 positions. The registration process begins on May 20, 2024. The last date for registration is June 2024.

Educational Qualification: Odisha High Court Group B

  • For ASO:  

The candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from an UGC recognized University. Besides a degree, a good knowledge of computer applications is preferred for this position. 

  • For Junior Stenographer: 

The candidate needs to hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any Indian-recognized university or institution. Most importantly, the candidates must have a speed limit of 80 words per minute in shorthand and 40 words per minute in typewriting. Knowledge of computer applications is preferred.

Age Limit: Odisha High Court Group B

    • For both positions, the candidates should be above 21 years old and below 32 years old as of May 2024. Age relaxation for SC/ST/SEBC/Women is 5 years and for PwDs is 10 years. 
    • Their birth year should be between May 15, 1992 to May 13, 2003.

    Registration Fee Details: Odisha High Court Group B

    The candidates must pay a minimum amount of registration fees to apply for the two positions. The registration fee is â‚ą500. 

    SC/ST and PwDs candidates need not pay any fees.

    Orissa High Court Positions Selection Process

    The applicants need to qualify through three to four stages of tests. Read the selection process here—

    For ASO:

    1. Preliminary Exam: 

    It will be a 2-hour and 150-mark questions test. The subjects include— General English, General Knowledge, Quantitative Aptitude and Logical Reasoning. 

    1. Mains Test:

    The candidates who qualified for the preliminary exam will have to sit for the main test. The mains exam is a 5-hour test, consisting of 300 questions. The subjects include— English, Mathematics, and General Awareness & Test of Reasoning. 

    1. Computer Test: 

    The exam consists of two tests— theory and skill test. 

    1. Viva-Voce: 

    The candidates who qualified so far will appear on the viva voce. The marks of viva voce will be added to the candidate’s Mains Exam marks for the final merit list. 

    For JS: 

    1. Qualifying Test in English Subjects:

    This is a written test, assessing the candidate’s subject-specific knowledge. 

    1. Computer Test:

    The exam consists of two tests— theory and skill test. 

    1. Skill Test:  

    The test is a shorthand and typewriting speed test to check the candidate’s skill.
