Eligibility to apply for the Naval Dockyard Mumbai Recruitment

Age Limit: 

  • The candidate must have been born before June 2006. 
  • The candidate must be 14 years old or older. There is no maximum age limit. 

Educational Qualification: 

  • For ITI trades, the candidate should hold an ITI (NCVT/SCVT) degree.
  • Non-ITI Trades– 
  1. Rigger: 8th pass and
  2. Forger Heat Treater: The candidate should pass the Matric, SSC, or 10th pass.

Minimum Physical Standard: 

  • Height: 150 cm
  • Weight: Not less than 45 kg
  • Chest Expansion: Not less than 5 cm
  • Eye sight: 6/6 to 6/9 (6/9 corrected with glasses)
  • External and internal organs should be normal.

Previous Training:

Certain candidates are not eligible if they went through or are currently undergoing an apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act of 1961 in any government, public, or private industrial organization.

Naval Dockyard Vacancy 2024: Selection Process

The selection process is completely based on merit. The merit list follows the process:

  1. Preliminary Merit List: 

The candidate with a valid application form will be placed on the preliminary merit list. The list will follow the trade and category list:

  • ITI Trades: 

For ITI trades, the merit list will be based on ITI marks and percentages. 

  • Non-ITI Trades: 

For non-ITI trades, the merit list will be based on the 8th and 10th results. In the case of a tie, the date of birth will be compared. The elder person will be placed above.

  1. Written Exam: 

The shortlisted candidate will be called for a written interview via email. The question will be MCQ-type on the OMR base sheet. 

  1. Interview: 

There will be another merit list for the shortlisted candidates. The candidates will be called for an interview. The documents will be verified along with an interview. 

  1. Final merit list and medical examination:

The recruitment board will release a final merit list of qualified candidates, trade- and category-wise. After that, the candidate should provide a medical certificate from the . government hospital to prove their fitness.
