TNSET examination is a government competitive examination conducted by the Government of Tamilnadu. It is an examination conducted for assessing and recruiting assistant professors for government colleges and universities. The application process has already started on the official sites of MSU.

TNSET 2024 Application Form

The candidate wanting to appear for the examination should register on the official website, and then file for the application of TNSET 2024. Before applying, candidates should properly read through the form and instructions mentioned.

TNSET, the short form of Tamil Nadu State Eligibility Test was released on April 1, 2024, on the official site of MSU and the last date for filling the form is on April 30, 2024.

The candidates who score the required minimum percentage of marks in the TNSET exam will be shortlisted later on for the position or post of Assistant Professor in a designated college or university in the state of Tamilnadu.

The result will be announced on the official website for the examination after the release of the answer key to the exam papers. The qualifying cut-off for the general/OBC category is 40% and for category OBC- NCL /SC/ST/PwD is 35%.

TNSET Recruitment Educational Qualification Details

It is also important to understand the educational qualifications that is required for the TNSET exam 2024. The applying candidates must have fulfilled the minimum percentage requirements in their respective Post-Graduation stream. The minimum percentage requirements for each stream is as below:

  • General category graduates should have 55% in their masters degree.
  • OBC, SC/ST, and PwD category candidates must have  secured a minimum of 50% in their post graduation
  • It is also applicable for final year post graduate students who are about to graduate or who are waiting for their results.

TN SET Age Limit

It is a fortunate process and eligibility criteria for people seeking permanent job opportunities in a government job, as the age limit is not provided for this. If the candidates fulfill the minimum educational requirements, they are eligible to apply and there is no such age restriction for application of Tamilnadu State Eligibility Test 2024.

  • Fill the basic details asked to fulfill the completion process
  • After registration for the TNSET, the necessary login credentials will be sent to your mobile number and email ID provided by you.
  • Fill the login credentials and login. 
  • Fill the application form, with personal details, address, educational qualifications, photograph, signature, community and caste details along with certificate,etc,. 
  • After carefully filing all the details, clock on ‘submit’ button. 
  • After the process, pay the application fees for the TNSET 2024 exams.

TNSET 2024 Exam Pattern

The TNSET exams are set to have two papers, paper one and paper two. Paper one is expected to be common for all candidates while paper 2 will be based on the subject chosen by the candidate as per their preferences and educational qualifications. 

It involves multiple choice questions (MCQ) and follows the same pattern. The exam duration is fixed for three hours, with one hour for paper one and two hours for paper two. Part one works on general knowledge abilities, teaching skills, and aptitude of the candidates. 

TNSET Syllabus 2024

The subjects and syllabus asked for the TNSET exams 2024 are mentioned here. The syllabus covers topics for both Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both papers have MCQs (multiple choice questions) and are conducted on different sessions on the exam day, being one paper on the afternoon and the other in the morning.
